Miller completed his PhD at the Federal University of Viçosa (Minas Gerais, Brazil) in 2023 under the supervision of Renata Meira and my co-supervision, when I was part of their graduate program. He explored aspects of the floral glands in clade Galphimioid of the Malpighiaceae and also diversity and evolution of wood anatomy in the clade.
