Angélica Quintanar Castillo
Former Master Student (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Mexico). Concluded 2023

In her Msc, Angélica focused on the Bunchosia clade, which is distributed from North America to South America, the Caribbean, Madagascar and South of Asia. Their geographic distribution and habit diversity (shrubs, climbing shrubs, lianas and trees) growing in contrasting habitats makes this clade a fascinating and intriguing group of study. Angélica investigated switches in anatomy connected to these habit and putative habitat transitions. With specific field trips involving different lab members we were able to track her species in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Madagascar. Check her publications on our website.
