In collaboration with different scholars, universities and using both molecular and anatomical methods we aim to describe and document the diversity of plant anatomy in root, stem and leaves to better understand how plant anatomical diversity relate to plant phylogenetic relationships. With this effort, we have been able to delimit synapomorphic anatomical characters to lineages previously recognized only by DNA data, test new taxonomic proposals, and suggest phylogenetic placement to enigmatic, overlooked taxa. Currently we have projects with Apocynaceae, Bignoniaceae, and Malpighiaceae.
