For his undergraduate thesis, completed in 2023, Felippe Teixeira looked at the ontogeny of winged barks in the genus Piptadenia of the Leguminosae. These trees are known in Brazil as Pau-Jacaré (Crocodile wood), in reference to these conspicuous wings that covers its entire barks.
